ABOUT
Nancy Riffle learned to make things at an early age. Inspired by the intricate doll clothes her maternal grandmother made , Nancy stitched her first garment at age 10 for her newborn sister. Much later she fabricated clothing and costumes for her young son.
While pursuing a primary career as a nurse practitioner, Nancy acquired an art background and started painting. Later, she began making and showing artwork while studying with Layne Goldsmith at the University of Washington where Nancy earned a certificate in Fiber Art in 2009. It was here that Nancy began combining stitch and paint in her fiber art. Today she works out of her home studio
with the support of the national organization, Studio Art Quilt Associates and her local art group, Contemporary Quilters and Fiber Artists.
